: For our main topic, we ask members to bring their favorite
iPhone, iPad Touch, and iPad apps to show and tell tonight.
We hope this will give us all ideas about exciting and useful new
      apps for our mobile devices.

Don Benne will briefly speak about the Mac App Store and its
implications for software development and distribution. We will

Your forum for exchanging information about open standards,
open systems, open source, products, services and architectures.

	    This month =
	    The basics portion will be
                                         Homebrew by Don Ellis.
This will be a general introduction to a package manager for
Mac OS X machines. Homebrew is said to be a compelling
alternative to MacPorts and Fink. The Homebrew core and all
the formulae are written in Ruby, so it could be easy to add stuff.

AND... Bill Odom returns with another dazzeling presentation
of the neatest tricks with the Vim Editor!

"Exploring Vim Editor's Visual Mode: Seeing Is Believing."

"vi" stands for "visual," but it's Vim that lives up to the
promise of the name. If you haven't taken advantage of
Visual Mode, you're missing out on one of Vim's most
powerful (and time-saving) enhancements over stock vi.
This workshop will cover the essentials of Visual Mode,
explain how it fits into the "vi way," and dive into some of
its less-obvious, but incredibly useful, capabilities.

A Complete Review of Reporting Services in SharePoint
		by Brian Knight of PragmaticWorks.

Reporting Services Data Visualization NEW IN SSRS 2008 R2
(Gary Bell, BI Architect at Aspect Software will present this)
Sparklines, Data Bars, and State Indicators:
Sparklines are small graphics that use color and shape
around a line or axis to communicate many data points.
They can be inserted into a table or matrix and their
axis size automatically. They can also be used as
stand-alone charts. Data bars represent the value i
n a cell by the bar.s length. The scale of multiple
bars in the same table or matrix enable easy visual
comparisons between cells. State indicators are v
isualized as a set of built-in icon sets to depict the
status against a value, goal, or a trend. You can also
create your own icon sets. Colors, icon, and size can
change based on data. Please RSVP, so that we can have
a count for the lunch order, by email to:
		events at datasig.org
This meeting will also be broadcasted via Lync.
The broadcast information is below. Please log in ahead
of time to download any software required.

Busy Java Developer's Guide to Java 7

		  Thu, May 12, 6:30pm . 8:00pm
		  CityPlace One Auditorium,
One City Place, Creve Coeur, MO 63141
		  http://www.ociweb.com/javasig/

Presented By: Ted Neward (Neward & Associates)

With the forthcoming release of Java7, a number of
things come to fruition, both in the Java language
and in the libraries, and it's important for Java
developers to know what those features are, and
how they change the game of writing Java code--or not.
