Rick will discuss the following: - Security dangers and threats (network and host based) - 'Firewall' architecture options using routers and/or dual homed hosts. - IP Packet filtering rules, both router and host software. - Host security and the tools available for Linux, including the TIS firewall toolkit, tripwire, proxies, NAT (network address translation), satan, cops, crack, etc.. - Configuring network services - DNS, email, etc.. - What commercial firewall vendors can offer. - Answer as many questions as able.
