If you are a member of SLUUG and the SLUUG BBS you can create your own web page by following these instructions:

From your home directory:

  1. chmod 711 $HOME
  2. mkdir public_html
  3. chmod 711 public_html
  4. chmod +r public_html
Create an initial home page and name it index.html. Copy this page and copy all of your other content to ~/public_html. To copy an entire directory from another Unix/Linux system to your web site:

cd webdir
tar zcf - . | ssh dark.sluug.org "cd public_html; gunzip -c | tar xf -"
