Allan Jude

Some have non-technical interests and even hobbies.

Allan Jude is a systems architect specializing in high-reliability infrastructure and open-source storage. He is co-founder of Klara Inc. , providing development and support services for FreeBSD and OpenZFS.

A FreeBSD committer since 2014, his contributions include enhancements to the installer and boot loader and the design of ZFS features including Zstandard compression, fast deduplication, and the forthcoming AnyRAID. He served six years on the FreeBSD Core Team and has been a member of the OpenZFS Leadership Team since its formation in 2018. He is the co-author of the FreeBSD Mastery: ZFS series and has hosted multiple technology and systems administration podcasts since 2011. Through writing, teaching, and production engineering, he advises organizations on building dependable storage and operating system platforms. He lives in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
