Here's what's up for next week at our main meeting:
MAIN* OpenVAS Security Package* by Tony Zafiropoulos
OpenVAS (Open Vulnerability Assessment System, originally known as GNessUs)
is a software framework of several services and tools offering
vulnerability scanning and vulnerability management.
Setting up a headless install for OpenVAS requires some knowledge of
OpenVAS and the system infrastructure in Kali Linux(Debian). I will be
reviewing my install of the following uname –a= Debian 4.18.10-2kali1
(Kali-rolling)
Since OpenVAS is designed to work within a laptop configuration, the
standard setup will not work. Greenbone Networks GmbH has open
source(OpenVAS) and licensed products (Greenbone Community editions) in
appliances.
We will review the changes necessary and the relatively new systemd in
Debian Linux that starts and stops software.
