DETAILS: Sometimes the software workbench requires more space and horsepower than is contained in a portable workstation. Also, some development tools have conflicting requirements, or cannot be installed in the developer's preferred environment. One solution is to use one or more virtual machines to host the development environments. If the VMs are running in a machine other than the primary workstation, the secondary workstation (VM host) can be controlled with the keyboard and pointer (mouse) of the primary workstation using Synergy, which allows quick switching among multiple displays from a single control point.
