The Saint Louis, Missouri (MO), Newcomer Linux Users Group (NEWLUG)
meets the fourth Tuesday each month (on third Tuesday in December).
These are free (no $$$), open, public meetings where face-to-face
assistance and time with Linux installation is known to be available.
This is a Linux Users Group for the newcomer with one-on one help
for anyone curious about or new to Linux.
Discussion topics covered are whatever the newest user needs to know.
The newest user in the room may select the topic.
We frequently have a volunteer or two that will meet the effort and
provide installation assistance during this time.
The next NEWLUG meeting is tomorrow:
2019-06-25 ~ 6:00 - 9:00 PM
Otherwise, our next public meeting where face-to-face assistance and
time with Linux installation is known to be frequently available is
with the monthly Saint Louis Area Computer Club (SLACC) when we hold
our regular Linux Configuration Workshop.
The next SLACC meeting will be:
2019-07-11 ~ 6:00 - 9:00 PM
Additional helpful guidance about installing Linux begins with information
in our handout:
Technical information about your computer before hand would be helpful,
so that we know what to expect. Make, model, CPU, RAM, hard drive capacity,
CD/DVD/USB ports, etc.
If these dates and times can't help, maybe we can come up with a better
time and find someone close to you. We know a number of folks that will
independently assist Linux installation at no $$$ cost. Some of our
senior members are very flexible time wise.
