RECOMMENDED CLIENT TESTING:
Instead of using a browser, it has been recommended to use the official
Jitsi appimage clients. Reportedly using the client consistently has
better results, with fewer connectivity, sound or video issues.

JOINING THIS ONLINE SESSION:
6:00pm Begin testing of controls, hearing, screen sharing and speaking
with the following site:
During this half hour period, others may be able to help you.
Joining without ear buds, earphones or headset may result in a feedback
loop with a builtin laptop microphone. Using at-least earbuds is highly
recommended. Using Ethernet is better than WiFi connectivity.
****DO NOT USE ICEWEASLE, SAFARI or FIREFOX BROWSER****
Until further notice, unless you are evil, do NOT join our session using
any Firefox based browser. Currently known Firefox compatibility bugs
cause problems for others already in Jitsi sessions.
****DO NOT USE ICEWEASLE, SAFARI or FIREFOX BROWSER****
If you do not make the effort and take the time to get your connection
working correctly, you may be very disruptive. Try dropping your
connection and rejoin. That sometimes fixes issues. But, do so slowly,
as granting access to your microphone and camera too quickly is the
current main problem. Also, there are often sound settings in different
browsers that may need to be changed.

WHEN YOU ENTER THIS ONLINE SESSION:
Do NOT remain showing as Fellow Jitster. Set your identity to show
first name and last name. We do prefer that you use your full last
name. Instead of full last name you could just follow first name with
an initial.
Going into the chat room may allow you to set your name there. Or, at
three vertical dots (more actions) in lower right hand corner, select
Settings, then under Profile "Set your display name" (you can ignore
the "Set your gravatar email block").
Meeting may be recorded for quality control.
Assistance with controls, hearing, screen sharing and speaking ends.

START OF MEETING:
Anybody joining after 6:30pm that experiences issues with controls,
hearing, screen sharing or speaking should only use chat room to ask
questions or make comments.
Annoying disruptions may cause you to be kicked off the session.
You might be muted on entry, so join early if you want to test your
camera or microphone. Use letter V on keyboard to toggle your camera.
Use letter M on keyboard to toggle (mute or unmute) your audio. You do
not need a camera, nor microphone to watch and listen with your browser.
All might be muted at this point. You may have to unmute yourself
in order to speak. You can ask questions and make comments in chat room.

ORDER OF EVENTS:
First some simple introductions, administrative minutia, announcements,
and then you can Call For Help during our Questions and Answers period.
Sometimes we will watch a video or have a slide show presentation,
after which there will be general discussions that usually lead to
additional topics.
Sometimes, there can be a live demonstration of a Linux distribution
(distro) installation, updating, changes, features and applications.

TOPICS:
Whatever the newest user needs to know.
The newest user at the meeting may select general and specific topics.
We won't pick just one ahead of time. We will accept suggestions and
requests, as the course of the meeting will be entirely up to those
that attend. Join us to share our knowledge, learning experiences,
problem solving, techniques and troubleshooting.
We can mostly explore the traditional Graphical User Interface (GUI),
as it is easy to use, often familiar, and friendly to use. We will NOT
focus on the Command Line Interface (CLI) as it is seldom required and
generally optional for day to day use. However, it has many benefits.
We have access to many formal slide show presentations; but, we use
them only to present information and encourage discussion. We encourage
and prefer lively interaction and user questions. We always want user
questions to be asked. We never think that any question is too dumb.
A selected topic will NOT restrict the course of our meetings. These
topics are tentative. They are only suggestions.
