ONLINE Sessions
Blockchain -an ethereum tech app for (business) supply chain track.
This will be a talk about a blockchain application. It will NOT be about a cryptocurrency
(ex, Bitcoin, Ethereum,...) It WILL be about utilizing the blockchain technology to do a
"trusted" application in business.
TOPIC Ethereum/VeChain Supply Chain by Brendan Laiben, from OCI
Brendan Laiben, of Object Computing Inc. (OCI), will present an implementation of a supply
chain on the Ethereum blockchain where users can create products that are tracked from
production to final sale.
The demonstration will consist of:
creating fungible tokens that represent products,
packaging those tokens into a non-fungible token that represents a shipment, transparently
tracking that shipment as it changes hands, and
finally decomposing that shipment back into its constituent tokens when it is transferred
to the end user.
The audience will learn:
how a decentralized application is structured,
how trust-less interactions are performed, and
how trust-less systems can actually help generate consumer trust.
BIO:
“Brendan is a Blockchain Software Engineer at Object Computing Inc. He has bachelors
degrees in mechanical and aerospace engineering from Missouri S&T. His history with
blockchain goes back to 2011, when he was first introduced to Bitcoin. In 2015,
Brendan’s work with a Bitcoin miner hosting company connected him with Ethereum prior to
its public launch. After working at Boeing on the F/A-18 and F-15 programs for a short
time, Brendan started an Ethereum development and consulting business and began learning
to code. A couple years and multiple projects later, he joined OCI as a permanent member
of their team.”
This will be a Zoom presentation. Instructions to follow on above web page and our
