The requirement for ADS-B coverage is here. As of 1 January, 2020, every aircraft in normal US airspace is required to send a position report every few seconds, called ADS-B. These position reports can then be captured by any number of specially configured receivers. This presentation will provide background info on this process, and continue to build a working receiver with Open Source software to receive and track these position reports! This session might show factors common with both personal and enterprise computing. But... still VERY germane to today's computers User Interface (UI). We look at words all day, and those words are always presented to us via fonts. Given the sheer amount of time we spend looking at fonts, shouldn't we know more about them?
