. Topic: The SuSE Experience by Lee Lammert
Lee will present Suse Distribution of Linux. There is OpenSuSE
which is still free, open-source as well the commercially supported
version. SuSE was bought by Novell and is very popular in large
organizations (Enterprize business, school districts,...) but Lee has
found it has management tools that make it great for small business as
well. SuSE is also very popular in Europe where it is frequntly the
replacement for MS-Windows.
Bio: Lee Lammert is the treasurer for the SLUUG and has a company by
the name of Omnitec.
Topic: A First Look at Mint by Ken Johnson
Ken will look at Linux Mint from the perspective of a new user. An
install and setup will demonstrate how a seasoned pro looks at the
current swath of new user friendly Linux distros like Mint. Ken Johnson
Bio: Ken Johnson works as an independent consultant performing system
and small network administration, and writing specialized technical
documentation.
