During the 4 February SLACC meeting we may have forgotten to talk
about the SLUUG elections for this month.
The Saint Louis Unix Users Group (SLUUG) is an IRS 501c(6) designated
not-for-profit professional association dedicated to education and
communication among computer users. SLUUG members include many Linux
and UNIX professionals, Networking experts, System experts, hobbyists,
students, plus many who are interested in Unix, Unix-like Operating
Systems, Linux, BSD and other Free Open Source Software (FOSS)
applications, products, projects and services.
SLUUG hosts web pages, sponsors, and otherwise assists and supports
three related; yet independent, associated local groups. We arrange
for remote meeting sessions, physical meeting places and pay meeting
room fees at county libraries.
The St. Louis Area Computer Club (SLACC) is an informal group, with
no formal appointed, chaired or elected officials. SLACC has strictly
voluntary hosts and participants.
The St. Louis Linux Users Group (STLLUG) is an informal group that
usually has a Linux specific presentation. Votes for its Chairperson
are collected on the annual ballot.
The Newcomer Linux Users Group (NEWLUG) is an informal group with
its own permanent Chairperson.
These informally associated groups are considered to be associated as
Special Interest Groups (SIGS) of SLUUG. They have important indirect
interest in the Board membership, which chooses to aid, promote and
support them now and in the future.
Attendance at any SLUUG meetings, and all of these associated meetings
and remote sessions is considered to count toward voting eligibility.
Displaying your name during the remote sessions allowed your attendance
to be counted. If you attended any two sessions last year, you may
vote by absentee ballot.
ANNUAL ELECTIONS
As required by our By-Laws.
Attending two sessions in year 2020 qualifies you to vote.
Ballot now available for February election.
An absentee ballot can be printed and mailed
https://www.sluug.org/ballot2021.pdf
Mailed ballots must be received by the 1 March meeting of the
SLUUG Steering Committee to be counted.
Vote early, vote often.
