BASE: Why Use DNSMASQ by David Forrest
Reasons to use dnsmasq to handle DHCP and name resolution rather than
allowing website to do it.
For a hint of what dnsmasq might be about, see:
https://stllug.sluug.org/presentations/ShortTopics.pdf slides from the Oct,
2019 stlLUG.
Dnsmasq is free software providing Domain Name System (DNS) caching, a
Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server, router advertisement and
network boot features, intended for small computer LANs.
MAIN: Voting Technologies and Security by Scott Granneman
This Is Democracy?: Voting Technologies and Security. If you want your vote
to count, don't use an electronic voting machine. Scott is going to explain
why, and give you plenty of ammunition to convince others. In addition,
Scott is going to look at the history of voting technologies and the
security behind the voting systems we will use in the upcoming elections,
including voting by mail.
St. L. County has a new computerized voting system as do many counties,
cities, & states. Will it "fix" problems or be a source of new problems?
(Remember the famous memo from the Dibol executive? When they were a/the
major supplier of voting IT systems, and the executive assured certain
politicians that the results would be in their favor?) Scott Granneman of
Wash U will explain it!
